Norwalk, Connecticut
Opening and operating 2 new School-Based Health Centers
In 2023, Shoreline wrote a highly competitive Federal HRSA School-Based Service Expansion grant and two Connecticut Department of Public Health grants on behalf of the Norwalk Community Health Center. Combined, these three successful applications funded the opening and operation of two new Norwalk Community Health Center school-based health and wellness centers within the Norwalk Public School District. This included one site in a local middle school (Ponus Ridge STEAM Academy), as well as one of the district’s high schools (Brien McMahon High School). They celebrated the grand opening of these sites with a ribbon cutting in January 2024. The health center and school district were thrilled to welcome US Senator Richard Blumenthal; Jonathan Smalls, a proud alumnus of both schools (representing US Senator Chris Murphy); US Congressman Jim Himes; State Senator Bob Duff; and Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling to the grand opening.
Having worked with community health centers nationwide, we bring a high level of understanding and expertise in the priorities and operational systems inherent in the CHC model of care.
